Welcome to:
THE
SEVENOAKS WEALD LODGE
Our Story
The Sevenoaks Weald Lodge was consecrated on the 18th of May 1979 as part of the West Kent Province. It is under the guidance of the United Grand Lodge of England.
Our lodge was named as such due to some of the Founder Members regularly meeting for a drink in the Windmill Pub within the Weald Village. This is where the idea of building a lodge was first conceived. The Lodge had 29 Founder Members and sadly only one is with us today.Â
We are a growing lodge with a mixed-age group. This is because we fully encourage our junior members to learn and develop both our rituals and our core values. We can accomplish this by following the guidance of our Lodge Mentor, attending meetings, and using the United Grand Lodge's online training program.
Charities
Charity being one of our core values, allows members to make positive contributions to their communities and various causes.
Each year our Worshipful Master decides which local charities will be supported by the lodge, this is completed by donations collected during our meetings, from raffles and various functions.
Our Lodge currently supports the following charities:
-
Harris Hospice Care with St. Christopher
-
Demelza House Children's Hospice
-
The Hospice in the Weald
-
The Thresher's Day Nursery (for underprivileged Children)
-
Kent Association for the Blind

West Kent Festival Appeal
Our lodge being part of the West Kent Province supports the Festival Appeal in various ways, this appeal has been set up to support the needs of our most vulnerable within the local communities.
Ladies Night
Each year our lodge holds a celebration event involving a meal and live music. This event is to thank our partners/wives etc. for their support throughout the year and to also raise money for the lodge's dedicated charities.
The Sevenoaks Weald Lodge Remembrance sweet bowl
This bowl is filled with sweets during all of our meetings. WB Bert Marcham used to always have sweets on him at our meetings and always handed them around. When Bert died the lodge set up this bowl in memory of past members to keep on Bert's tradition of giving out sweets at the lodge.
We believe this is a unique tradition to our lodge.
